Project Notebooks: Create a kanban board

Create a kanban board #

This article explains how to create and manage a Kanban board in a project notebook.

Prerequisites: This task requires the user to have administrative access to the Project Notebook.

Instructions #

Step 1: Navigate to the All Project Notebooks area by clicking the menu item located under the Project Notebooks main menu item.

Step 2: Click a project notebook’s title to edit the notebook.

Step 3: Be sure the Kanban section has been turned on in the Choose the options for this project section.

Step 4: Set up the Stages you would like for your board. Click the Manage Stages button and edit them accordingly. Note: After creating your stages, you can drag and drop the stage column to the order you prefer by clicking on the column name and dragging it to the position you’d like.

Step 5: Click the + icon in the column header to add a card to that column. Cards can be dragged across multiple stages to move them if/when needed.

Title – Provide a card name.

Card Description – Provide details for exactly what this card is for. Be sure to include information that might be relevant if looking at this much later in the year.

Assign Users – You can assign users to this card by typing a name and selecting the correct user that appears below.

Task Status – You can set a status for this card using the Task Status section.

Task Due Date – Set a due date for this card and set reminders to be sent to hose who have been assigned to this card.

Step 5: Be sure to Save your work by clicking the Publish/Update button.

Once saved, the kanban items will appear in the Kanban board section of the Project Notebook. You can edit, delete or duplicate budget items from this section. You may also choose to display this section on the front-end of your website.
